Science, Analytics & Innovation with High Performance Computing (SAI-HPC)

Inaugurated April 7, 2025

Located at the Central Research Instruments Facility (CRIF), SSSIHL, the state-of-the-art SAI-HPC Facility was inaugurated by the Honourable Chancellor, Sri K Chakravarthi, I.A.S. (Retd.), alongside Trustees, Vice-Chancellor Prof. B Raghavendra Prasad, and Institute leadership. Supported by alumni hardware contributions, this computational hub empowers students and faculty to tackle complex global challenges.

Transforming Healthcare IT: Cloud Migration of SSSCT Hospital System

Saved ₹7.2+ Crore in Legacy Vendor & Server Costs

The legacy Hospital Information System (HIS) operating across Trust hospitals relied on outdated Oracle application servers requiring Internet Explorer compatibility mode and legacy 2-tier desktop forms. A complete hardware, storage, and software upgrade was projected to cost ₹7.2 Crore with ongoing annual maintenance fees of ₹35 Lakhs.

Cloud Deployment Highlights

  • Enterprise Software Acquired: Adopted Narayana Hrudayalaya's ATHMA HIS platform across Trust hospitals at zero software acquisition cost.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Deployed 7 Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server instances on Microsoft Azure Cloud (commissioned Sep 21, 2024). The RHEL subscription was supported by North America Alumni.
  • Hospitals Currently Live: SSSIHMS Prasanthi Nilayam, SSSGH Puttaparthi, and the Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital (SSSIHMS Whitefield joining next).
  • Future Phases: Rolling out mobile point-of-care apps for bedside doctors/nurses and migrating back-office operations to Microsoft Dynamics Navision.
